..and her lovers walk through in their coats...

please stop licking your monitor. i know you all like duck, but that's going too far. guys have princess leia in a gold bikini and we have duckie dale.
i was listening to the psychedelic furs on the way home and i think i had actually forgotten what a cool song "pretty in pink" was. i mean, it has everything you could possibly want from an 80s new wave masterpiece: british accent, driving guitars , melodic keyboard undertones, insipidly oblique and yet awe inspiring lyrics... god, what genius.
and yet OMD's "if you leave" is the song everyone remembers from the film. "seven years went under the bridge, like time standing still." wtf? for some reason that line always pisses me off. mixed metaphors, anyone? not that i don't like the song, but that line always pissed me off and "pretty in pink" was a way better song. the things i ponder.

i found a bag of dry cleaning that had been sitting around for nearly two years and at the bottom of it was this dress. it's a trovata i picked up when i still had a job that paid. a lot. it's bias cut and very late 20s/early 30s inspired with incredible detail. i threw it in the dryer with a "dry cleaners secret" sheet and it came out fresh as a flower in half an hour.

my new boss told me i looked like a pirate. i stared at her blankly and finally, in a very cynical tone, stated that i was going for more of a flapper ensemble. droll. very droll.
things i accomplished in the last two days:
1. getting my ipod library transferred back onto my computer
2. getting the last 300 cds uploaded to itunes
3. getting so pissed off at my latest nancy drew computer game that i nearly threw my computer across the room
4. watching "torchwood: children of earth" (both discs) and "doctor who: planet of the dead" in quick succession
5. not much else

this is my own fault. i wished for employment and now i'm boring and lazy.
