back with a vengeance

yeah, it's been a while so this one is gonna be a bit looooooooong!
hmmmmm..... what have i been up to? lots and lots of work at the new job which is great, btw! butter london rocks my world. literally. now i just gotta convince the creative director, nonie creme, to make a doctor who nail polish. wouldn't "sonic screwdriver" make a great name for a nail lacquer?
i've been watching doctor who obsessively when i get home from work. i now have a favorite episode even. you all must watch "blink" from season three.
in my nerdy opinion, it ranks right up there with "hush" from buffy the vampire slayer as one of the best episodes of television ever created. even if you don't like the genre or doctor who, this episode must be watched. check out the preview!
i was also lucky enough to be part of the #lofnotc revolution on twitter on friday. thank you, miss afp!

saturday was the great yard sale and all in all we did pretty well. my sister made the most $$$ but at least we got rid of a ton of stuff. yay us!
sunday was the first time i got to visit jacob and my family in weeks! i crammed a lot into that day. the peahens were anxiously awaiting my arrival. the peacock was down the road somewhere screeching out his mating call. spring is in the air! it was a sunny gorgeous day in the mid 70s. xander and i wandered around in downtown port orchard and found this enormous cat lounging in the window of a closed store.we had to kill some time before the library opened. i let xander check out six books, all of which we read while i was over there.
i know it's mean, but these book titles (and covers) made me laugh nearly to death.note the bottle of whiskey on the table. classic!
jacob liked my dad has a disease best!well duh, of course its ok! couldn't you think of a better title?xander snapped a pic of me browsing through the picture books.
after the library, i took him to the log cabin museum. i would LOVE to live in this house!here we are at the organ.they had mannequins set up throughout the house to simulate the family that lived there. xander was pretty creeped out by them, especially the one in the bathtub.
after my xander time, i ran over to bremerton to visit jacob. we have become connoisseurs of bremerton graffiti. wtf?
we lounged in the grass by the fountains and talked for a while. he even let me read him some don marquis! we were wandering back to the car when we found this park that seemed to have dropped from the sky. we were down here in march and there was no sign of this place and suddenly its here. how?when i was a kid, this street was a row of bars, a tattoo shop, a mcdonalds and a woolworths with a soda fountain. it had (sadly) gotten pretty decrepit. this is a huge improvement.
this is jacob's "tourist" pose. it took him years to perfect it, you know.
the fountain emits a mist of cold water that was quite refreshing on my sunburned skin.
until i disappeared...this statue was melting down bullets, we think.
the details on her were amazing - folds on her clothing, bullets in her pocket. sadly, her face looked a bit inbred. i think i'll just adjust this valve while she looks away...
my parents and xander appeared on the street corner while we were picking on the statue. how funny that we all just ran into each other!
xander liked the new fountains but the mist scared him.
he was petrified while posing for this shot. i'm such a mean auntie!

jacob and i went out for a beer to cool down but i was attacked by a drunken old man who wanted to stroke my hair. yech! we ended up hanging out at his place and laughing at an early 90s catalog for the cognitively challenged.i wish i had taken pictures of it as it was riotously funny but hard to describe.
weekends have to end, as much as we wish they wouldn't. the week has started up again and i have to get going so i can get to work. since my life is getting back into a routine, i should be posting with more regularity. i swear i won't go this long between posts again. really!
'til next time...
