the following text was taken from an e mail i received last night. please note the section regarding the virginia companion book. i've highlighted it for you in red. i purchased the book as soon as it was released and mine was one of the unfortunate ones to fall apart at the seams. i responded at 4a during our snow lightning storm and had a response at 7a letting me know my new copy was on its way. can you beat that?

We feel insanely lucky to have such an honest and true connection with our fans, and we try not to take it for granted. We have a real bond with you guys. we've met you guys. We like you. You like us. Seem obvious? No. Other bands would pay millions of dollars to have that, but you can't buy it. You can only earn people's trust, make art from your heart, tour like a motherfucker, take the time to meet your audience and prove that you care about your art more than you care about fame, money or glory. And we try to do that, because we think that's the way it should be. And we wouldn't have been able to do it without an intelligent and loving audience. Here's the deal with....THE VIRGINIA COMPANION PHOTO & SONGBOOKBrian and I worked our asses off to make this gorgeous book, and it came out BEAUTIFULLY. It is a 200+ page treasure trove of band photos, stories & sheet music for both No and Yes Virginia.Those of you who received books from the original pressing may have found yourself with loose pages falling out due to the shitty glue they were bound with. E-mail us anytime with questions.THE NEIL GAIMAN BOOK/CRIME SCENE SETSThe sad fact is that Art Always Takes Longer Than You Think It's Going to and between my schedule and Neil's Schedule, we weren't able to make the deadline to get the book printed by Christmas, which devastates us. This means it will be available around January or February. And THIS means that anyone who ordered the pre-order package that included the book won't get it until then, and we're really sorry.But there's good news:Neil Gaiman also feels bummed about this. So we decided that in order to make it up to you, we're going to mail a beautiful little limited edition print, signed by me, Kyle Cassidy, and Neil, to everyone who ordered the big package with the book. The print will be one of the photos from the book, and we hope you can forgive us for making you wait...we think the book will be more than worth it.From Beth:Here's the deal on the crime scene evidence sets from the pre-order. I ordered the photos from a new, untested company who screwed up. I caught part of the mistake but not all of it. We got down to the wire and I haven't been able to fix things, so these will have to ship with the book. When the rest of the photos come in, I will be heading to Boston to see with my own eyes and hands that these are properly assembled. So when you finally get it, you'll know that it may have been done late, but it was done with love. I am truly sorry this got screwed up and hope you understand.
