are you the owner?

i was asked this question over and over today. i find it very flattering! to me, it says that i am asserting ownership and pride in luna park. i act accountable. i am the face of the business. or maybe i was just being bossy...

(**you can see how ugly and swollen my bad ankle gets after a days work - check out my right ankle in this picture. creepy, huh?**)

i also received a ton of compliments on my outfit and necklace today. i adore this necklace very very much. it's one of my madame fortuna pieces, called "the honeymooners". artist extraordinaire allison, aka madame fortuna, said it started off with the jalopy emblazoned clasp and grew, encompassing all the things a newlywed couple in the 30s might cherish as they traveled off to their new life. in her words, "I wanted this necklace to look like a 30's jalopy might sound like with cans trailing after it...Think dustbowl love, John Steinbeck, WPA and thin chiffon dresses." i love the scenarios she associates with each piece! it keeps me coming back for more and more of her creations. oh, that and the fact that her stuff RAWKS!!!!!

as a bonus, i threw in a few shots of the luna park cafe interior for your enjoyment. there are things everywhere - vintage metal lunchboxes, old neon signs, odd advertisements, historical pictures of the original luna park and west seattle... if you ever come to our little diner, be sure to allow yourself time to check it all out. bring your appetite and your camera, kids!

vintage kimberly sweater suit: it was either my grandma's or one my ex-boyfriend's mom gave me. i can't remember but i love it anyway.

owner, mistress, maestro- how could you NOT get respect in this outfit, and with your effortless grace? the orange tights are the KICKER. LOVE them! can we have a close up of the necklace? i am oh so intrigued (though i already spent all my money this week... maybe i shouldn't see it!!!) Luna Park Cafe looks so awesome... this summer we might get up to Seattle to play a show, and i am coming to getcha!!!! (speaking of which, if you ever get a chance to take a snap of yourself in anything you bought from us, we still would LOVE to feature you in our blawg!) (: Sasha

You are cooler than you could possibly ever know. That's all I can say now, as I've said it all before. So you at least know where I'm coming from.

I treasure you and your coolness...

i'm putting together a blog of my madame fortuna collection right now. i didn't even realize how extensive it had gotten until i started gathering it all up!
sasha, i love to see you! be sure to tell me if you're gonna make it up this way. i'll post pictures of my haunted threads in the next few days for you, too.
thank you both for your sweet comments! it warms the cockles of my heart!
i couldn't figure out why i was so drawn to the batmobile yesterday but when i got home, my copy of "the dark knight" was waiting on the porch for me. suddenly it all made sense!

I think your ankle looks normal, but maybe it's the angle of the ankle. I concur about the outfit too!
