my nephew has his very own digital camera. we took pictures of each other taking pictures of each other. yes, he is wearing a tiara. the bandana is his hair. it's very little edie, don't you think? i bought grey gardens for his mother and i suspect he's watched it a few times himself.
the day after i got out of the hospital in 2006, my mother was adopted by a family of wild peacock chicks. they're all grown up now. they came up to the window and honked until my mom went out to feed them. we were eating dinner at the time and we all dropped our forks to go and see them.
when he fans his tail, it sounds like hissing or something rattling on the top of a drum. it's hard to explain if you haven't heard it.
with his tail all fanned out, this bird is gigantic. they have no fear of people, either. he even lets xander touch his tail.
i just happened to be wearing my peacock sweater from anthropologie. cheesy and blurry picture, i know. it's the only one i got with me in it, though.
while my parents were checking on my grandparents, i met up with my friend jacob for a beer. this tavern has been operating in bremerton since the 30s and it is very twin peaks.
this sign was posted above the bar.
jacob and i have known each other since junior high and we were hoping we'd get to catch up, but i got the word that i needed to get up to the hospital. the cardiologist wants my grandfather to have a defibrillator installed. he had fallen and banged himself up pretty bad at about 3a. the doctor said that was probably when he was having the onset of the heart attack. he's a very strong and stubborn man but he gladly held my hand while i was at the hospital. he's totally coherent but the doctor wanted us to understand how serious the situation was.
i didn't sleep last night and i'm very thankful i was able to take the day off work today. i'll be back at work tomorrow and will hopefully be able to get my etsy updates posted. everything will be dependant on my grandfather's health, though. i need to be around as much as possible and my family lives across the puget sound. that's a 40 minute ferry ride or an hour to two hour drive depending on traffic. i want everyone to know i'm fine but since i'm very close to my grandparents, this is tough on me. i'll keep posting updates and let you all know how things are going. thank you for all the sweet words of support - it means a lot to me!
