bedtime stories

the cats made me read them a bedtime story because i didn't come straight home from work tonight. the lonely doll is their favorite, especially the part where edith gets spanked. linus and lucy are really into spanking. if you ever wanna make friends with them, give them a good smack above the tail. you'll be in like flynn.
so where was i, you ask?
i met up with frank for a much needed after-work-decompression drink and dinner at the pink door, one of my most favoritest restaurants in seattle even though i've only been there twice. it's in an alley at the pike place market and the closest thing they have to a sign is that little one hanging on the door. quaint, no? upon entering, this is your view. what's not to love? well, except the long flight of stairs. (it's that damned crippled ankle that makes coming here really painful.)
on certain nights, aerialists perform over the dining room.
there were no aerialists tonight but this 90 year old dude from the band setting up almost knocked frank's head in.
is it narcissitic to say i love all the mirrors? i don't use them while dining, i just like the look they give the place.poor frank - i think my sarcasm really frazzled his nerves tonight. he even strangled a water glass at one point! sorry - had to share that one. i had a blast and i believe that once the water glass had been put out of it's misery that he enjoyed himself as well. good times and a much needed midweek reprieve from the grind of work. why postpone all the fun for the weekend, right?
it wasn't until i went to put my coat on that i noticed the pudgy cheeked rick springfield guardian angel watching over me. i had to take a picture. wtf?
and guess what? when i joked with the waiter that i'd take my meager pasta leftovers with because it was a recession, he fixed me up with a big ol' bag including more bread and big cup of their infused olive oil. happy!

so now i'm in bed in my flannel sock monkey pajamas with a cat tucked under each arm, a full tummy, and a long list of e mails from all of you with your halloween costume ideas. how creative are you all? i demand pictures from everyone!goodnight and thank you!
(yeah, that's from a morrissey song that's been swirling around in my head)
