i'm slightly perturbed about the impending extradition of roman polanski that's been dominating the news lately. now we know what he did and we know that it was wrong, but why now? especially the day after the death of susan atkins, one of the manson followers who killed his wife and unborn child. i imagine that dredged up some sad memories for a man whose life was riddled with tragedy.
even his victim wants the case to be over. it's been over thirty years - let it go!*climbing down from soapbox*
i found myself stuck in sodo yesterday (seahawks traffic) so i took the little opportunity to visit the goodwill. it was rather uninspiring. all i picked up were a picture frame, an adorable little dress, a tablecloth and a slip. the highlight of the day was my visit to taco bell. i know, i know. we don't have one here in west seattle so i was pretty happy to get my bean burrito of death. i think they put crack in those things.
i was stopped a few times in the goodwill by other shoppers who complimented my haircut and my hat. i adore this beret and it's nice and warm when the fall chill starts to set in. i even had a little old man in a brown leisure suit and pencil moustache ask me if it has anything to do with genie garage door openers and he proceeded to tell me a story about having lost the remote for his. he was so cute i let him tell the whole saga before explaining that it was actually french for "head of genius".
this is my pretty new dress. it was the ruffled collar that sucked me in. it's a little snug in the bust but alas, that is the nature of vintage for me. i threw on a large mme. fortuna necklace to disguise it a bit. sometimes i wish i was a bit smaller up top.
the winds gusted all night and i finally closed all my windows. we're only a few days from october and i can't wait to start wearing all my gorgeous coats. having to close the windows is a very good sign that coat weather is nearly here. yays!
