love is all around

lucy has got a nasty cold and all she wants to do is lay on my chest and sneeze in my face. poor kitty.
so what have i been up to? squash nurturing. there is a story here. let me start at the beginning.
last winter i met the gorgeous sasha (the other squash mama) through her too fabulous etsy store where i picked up one of my most treasured dresses. through my correspondence with her, i stumbled upon the incredible miss automne who i also began to correspond with.
sidenote: can i just tell you how much i love both of these women? they're both super talented and innovative musicians, horribly beautiful, undeniably stylish, witty as hell AND two of the most thoughtful and kind people i've ever come across. they truly helped me to make it through the past year AND do it with a smile on my face. end sidenote.
so anyways, automne invited me to her wedding that took place just last sunday in the city of roses, portland, oregon, my former stomping ground. the fates tried to prevent me from going (screw you, bank account stealing collection agency!) but i headed down I5 with $40, a full tank of gas, killer cramps (NOT the band) and the decision that i was going to have an absolute blast.
mission accomplished.automne was the best bride ever. take that, bitchy women in overpriced vera wang snotrags. have you ever seen a better wedding dress?
the evening was filled with dancing and music and hijinks and...

CUPCAKES! each one had an album cover cupcake topper.yes, i specifically chose the stone roses one. how long have i loved them? since junior high, bitches.
please note the wedding program in the background. i can't even begin to describe it. all i will tell you is that the cover is a reworking of the "rock and roll high school" poster, pictures of each guest (if only high school yearbooks looked this good), the story of automne and graham, and a mix cd! maybe if you're really lucky you can pick one up on ebay. if you ask real nice, i may let you look at mine. maybe.meet gib, my new friend. yup, he's the sheriff. we may have hallucinated at some point in the evening but we DID see the man across the street from the weeding cooking dinner naked. he promises to read my blog, too. are you there, gib?there is a very sweet and romantic story behind this...... but i'll let automne tell you!
did i mention cupcakes? AND jarvis cocker? if only i'd taken more pictures... sorry, i was too busy having fun.i'm so happy that i finally got to meet automne and sasha and that they're every bit as wonderful as i knew they'd be. i think i'm going to be taking a lot more trips down south to visit each of these ladies and i hope they come north and do the same. i love you two!can you believe xander took this picture? my nephew rocks.all of next weekend will be devoted to spending time with him. we're going to read "the graveyard book" and eat chocolate popcorn and watch doctor who. get ready, kid!
