blue dresses and the "black" girl

i've totally been in a blue dress mood lately. didja notice? how tickled was i to discover that the lovely louise black is a contestant on the new season of project runway? love love LOVE!!!
louise made a custom corset for me in 2008 and it is one of my most treasured garments ever. mine is an exact replica of this one.i absolutely adore her dark flapper style and impeccable workmanship. she's as cute as she can be and, in my dealings with her, proved to be a very very nice lady. plus her husband is a kick ass artist (his peacock picture hangs on my bedroom wall). i remember when she was making my corset, she had gotten very bogged down with custom orders. she was in constant contact with me and, i'm certain, her other customers. some of them started posting pissy feedback on etsy. wtf? i immediately convo'd her and let her know that she could postpone making mine if she had people getting aggro. i waited patiently (and nowhere near as long as one would think for a custom piece made by hand) and received not only my gorgeous corset but a box of goodies including the peacock picture and a very heartfelt thank you note. what a gal!

coincidentally, louise is the second PR designer to contribute to my wardrobe. jennifer diederich from season five made my gorgeous mini beret (worn here with sasha). i just got an invite from her to her next show but sadly, it's on the east coast. waaaahhh! well, i can still drool over her etsy shop, right?
a customer coughed his gum out onto the counter while i was ringing him up today. he ignored the fact that it happened and i had to clean it up. gross.
calgon, take me away.
