melancholy bliss, wistful longings, tattered dreams, TONS of pretty dresses..........and the occasional zombie.

once upon a time in seattle...
welcome to my home. i love that video! today i had to go to the nordstrom federal credit union. it's at the nordstrom headquarters in downtown seattle. i rarely go downtown anymore. this is pacific place. it's where the rich people shop. i used to come over here for lunch when i worked at nordstrom. mexico cantina had the most killer tortilla soup. i have a huge weakness for tortilla soup. it's where i had to park today. it was either that or nordstrom valet. i dumped my coffee down the front of my dress right after i snapped this picture. i'm so graceful.
this guy had hair like an anime character but i was actually trying to get a shot of the two ladies in traditional japanese kimonos. they're hidden by the sign. i accidentally took a picture of my lap. things like that happen when you attempt to drive and take pictures at the same time. very unsafe.when i was down here every day, i took all this stuff for granted. the lusty lady always has witty signs. this side said "april show hers."the hammering man in front of the seattle art museum hammers all day every day except labor day. it reminded me that when i was a teenager, i got to be on a seattle sketch comedy show. my scene was filmed right here. and guess what? through the magic that is youtube, i found the clip.
did you find me? i'm the one who says, "they're so white!" btw - the hfwg with the glasses is my friend's landlord. when she met him, she was starstruck as she was a huge "almost live" fan when she was a teen. her boyfriend who is from the east coast just didn't get it. you guys, the show was a REALLY big deal around here. i mean BIG. i still find myself quoting things from sketches likemind your manners with billy quan, the ballard driving academy, and the lame list. when this was filmed, i think i was around 16 years old and growing out a shaved head. tres chic. as opposed to now, where i run around town dressed like this. while the fur lends an air of sophistication, the sock garters and layered slips embed the outfit firmly in the land of whimsy. vintage fur cloak: goodwill (i spent two weeks restoring it to its original glory. i had to restitch the pelts together, reattach the lining and comb every bit of it with a strawberry shortcake comb to make it shine)

i still think of myself as a girl even though i'm in my 30s. i laugh out loud when i'm alone. i have a theoretical collection of blythe dolls but no literal collection of them. i can't pass a penny without picking it up - it's a compulsion. i have conversations with my cats, linus and lucy. i colored lucy's whiskers with a magic marker when they changed from black to white. i practice facial expressions from silent films in the mirror. i fake my own death and take self-portraits of the results but i don't show them to anyone. i wish i knew me better but i'm sorta stand-offish. maybe i'm just stuck up.
