Will you shut up? It's a goddamn beautiful day, shut up!

(when i can't think of a suitable title for a blog, i snag a quote from IMDB, generally from grey gardens. today was one of those days)
i was having such a lovely dream - i had suddenly stumbled across a vintage "warehouse" of clothing that had belonged to my great grandmother and her sisters. the sunlight trickled in through jagged tears in brocade curtains, once elegant but now moth-eaten. the beams of light exposed swarms of dust swirling through the air but strangely, i wasn't sneezing. all the clothing was arranged on wrought iron racks decorated with long silk sashes and beaded handbags. i stumbled across a basket and knocked it over. i bent down onto the thick auburn carpet to survey the contents and found the most beautiful pinkish beige satin en pointe ballet slippers. i slipped them on and tied the ribbons all the way up to my thighs. through the magic that only happens in dreams, i lifted up onto my toes and danced through the room, leaping up into the air and through the beams of light and dust, out of my little crippled world, and onto a large wooden stage in front of an empty and dark auditorium. and then, i smelled rotten fish. sadly, i woke up to linus licking the inside of my nose and lucy scratching my arm. it was almost two in the afternoon and they wanted to be fed. damn.
the dream definitely influenced my outfit choice for the day.
and i found myself looking at images of long gone and lovely ballerinas for much of the day.
god do i ever wish i could dance! i tried some gentle leaps and pirouettes in the front yard while i snapped pictures but my ankle couldn't support very much and i collapsed in the grass like some dumb little giggly girl after my second attempt at a jette. still, it felt magical.
blythe "took me out" for dinner and errands. we ate my favorite kao soi at "sarah" pailin thai while reading breaking dawn and grabbed coffee at starbucks. blythe is a crappy navigator.
people always stare at me at target so the odd looks today while taking blythe's picture in front of the store phased me not.
shopping at target usually takes me a while. i'd generally compare my rounds of the store to a swedish mile as i circle around and around and around through the aisles, wishing i'd made a list and coordinated it with the layout of the store. today's visit was more of a sprint. i was in and out in 20 minutes with four bags of groceries and a new bottle of sleeping pills.

that was my day? how sad in retrospect. at the time it seemed more interesting. really? huh.
i need a job so badly.
