i didn't wake up to the sun today. sad. seattle has returned to its dismal grey cloudy skies. c'est la vie!
i bought myself a "grown-up wallet" a few years ago. you know what i mean - wide, spot for a check book, credit card compartment, etc. so my "grown-up wallet" was black with skulls and red vinyl scallops - i gotta make some allowance for personality!
being vinyl, it had started to fall apart. i love this thing but it got ratty tatty and i had to face up the fact that it had to go. i've been searching for a replacement for eight months with no luck. until today, that is!
i made my semi-annual trek to uwajimaya. if you don't know about it, it's a seattle asian shopping institution. i know they're a chain now, but they started here in 1928.
it's basically a mecca for anything asian, especially when you make it to the mothership in the international district. we're talking 60,000+ sq feet of engrish, my friends. true love!
lenny and i used to go there to buy personal care products with dirty sounding names. too fun.

lenny and i used to go there to buy personal care products with dirty sounding names. too fun.so while rummaging through the assorted parasols and paper lanterns, i found my wallet. love love love. it's a black leather "grown-up wallet" with studs and a metal hello kitty plaque.
yay! plus, it was on clearance. total total score! so happy! it's no longer embarrassing to pay for stuff. well, until my debit card gets declined, that is.
so i think it's a law that you have to buy random and impractical things when you visit uwajimaya. since the wallet was practical, i had to do a bit more shopping. what did i come up with to make my quota of randomness?
incense matches! great for the bathroom, btw.
hello kitty giant jawbreaker! yum.
jasmine soap and chinese take-out boxes!!!
mission accomplished.
i had to run by target for midol. i think i should start mainlining the stuff cause when i get my dot, i get the most crippling cramps and nausea. what do other people do? oh yeah - they have jobs and medical insurance. silly me.
so my new embroidery obsession kept me up half the night stitching dead birds and sleepy chickens onto everything. i had to wear some of my art today, so here's a detail of my amateur bird dress.
yesterday i mentioned my little beret score from the goodwill. i washed it and decked it out with amanda fucking palmer buttons and wore it today.time for a quick nap (midol makes me sleepy), some more embroidery and a few movies. let's see what i can do today.
silver leaf necklace: f21

cream beret: goodwill
eggplant tights: nordstrom
