i almost forgot that today is frances farmer friday here in west seattle. the house where she grew up is a few blocks from mine. i devoured her autobiography, "Will There Really Be A Morning?" and keep at least one copy of it around. it was a great snapshot of the real hollywood star factory as well as an invaluable resource for my battles with mental illness. the theater down the road is having a two night tribute to her legacy, which you can read about here http://westseattleblog.com/blog/?p=11628
i wish i didn't have to work so early or i'd have gone. she was amazing.

She totally was! Did you see the movie made about her that came out in the 70's with Jessica Lang? She nailed it! Hot cha cha!
"frances" was such a great film. in fact they'll be showing it tomorrow night as part of the series. did you cry when her mom let them lock her up, too? actually i think i bawled throughout the whole thing. the only unrealistic part was when she swam on alki. NO ONE swims there. it's filthy and freeeeeeeeeeeezing!
Yeah, it ripped me up a little bit. :( Movies like that I've got to watch carefully, lest I get more depressed than I already am. *Sigh*
