i actually got up today! i had to deposit my rent check and get cat food so i treated myself to coffee and a goodwill spree in t
he process.
todays outfit: dress- vintage off etsy
necklace - etsy
red acetate slip - had it since i was 20
hat - forever 21
stole - inherited from grammie brinkerhoff
blue jacket - target
bracelet - palomasnest.etsy.com
(it was custom made and says "the heart is a lonely hunter" as it's my favorite carson mccullers book and the motto of my life!)
not pictured - heather blue tights from the gap and burgundy side zip frye boots from urban outfitters. too bad.
i shed the jacket rather qu
ickly since it is once again around 60 degrees out, but the stole lasted all day. my first stop was the drive thru starbucks on avalon. being physically impaired means heavy dependence on drive thrus. i saw this graffiti on a pillar in the drive thru and had to snap a picture. it says, "don't vote 4 obama please!!!" i feel that there is a story behind this and wonder what it could be... suggestions?
after refueling on coffee, i dropped off my rent check at my landlord's bank in the junction. i tried to count how many people i saw driving while they yapped away on their cell phones but i lost count after 20. that's one of my big pet peeves, especially since its now against the law in washington. it really gets on my nerves in school zones but that's a rant for another day.
i snapped a photo of this sign on roxbury way, certain tha
t it was a typo. i sure hope they didn't have to pay for that! hopfully "roxbury" will be spelled correctly on the permanent sign.
right after i snapped that photo, some jerk in a honda blabbering on his cell phone ran a red light and nearly caused a major wreck with three other cars. luckily, a police cruiser was two cars behind me. they witnessed the whole thing and promptly pulled the schmuck over. yay! how often do you get to see bad drivers get their just desserts?
i had a wonderful time at the goodwill. i love the store in burien - they have the best stuff! i got several dresses, a su
per cute funky pair of dark brown rocket dog mary janes, an antique birdcage, a pink cake tin from the early 60s, a bunch of slips in fun colors and these amazing deadstock hair/wig/fall things from the 60s. they were all in their original vinyl cases and the tags were still attached inside and out. i couldn't believe it! i'll post pictures of them very soon.
sometimes i find fun clothes at target but there was nothing that blew me away today. considering how well i did at the goodwill, that was probably for the better. i did pick up some knee socks and a couple pairs of tights in addition to the necessities. all the halloween candy was 75% off so i snagged some twizzlers, starburst and skittles, too. i have an insatiable sweet tooth! i bought a second rolling closet and a ton of hangers so i can attempt to hang some of the clothing that is covering the chairs and floor in my bedroom and sitting room. rotsa ruck!
linus was very happy to see me when i got home. he spent the last 36 hours snuggled in my right arm but he still acted like he'd been neglected and was starving for love. i snapped that picture this morning before i got up. i love how he crossed his legs so nonchalantly. note how my bed becomes filled with books, movies, my cell phone and the things that aren't pictured like bottles of perrier, cords for all my devices, a flashlight, candy, pictures, assorted articles of clothing, cat toys, etc. cory always laughs at me when he comes over. you never know what you might find stashed in my bed! the problem started when i was in the hospital after the accident and couldn't get up other than to use the commode. i know - tmi! the amount and variety of stuff grew after i was released and had access to my queen sized bed again. my limited mobility has done nothing to alleviate the mess, as i'm sure you can imagine. making my bed is akin to a treasure hunt. even i am shocked at how much stuff i can hide under the covers! oh well. until next time...

Well aren't you a 20's sheba! Looking great, doll! And wow, I don't even know where to start on this blog, but it looks like you had a really good day! Did you get to visit with anyone, or did you do this alone?
LOL@ spelling errors on signs. Be still my heart on Good Will! (In Pea's neck o' the woods, eh?)
Thank you for swinging by my latest blerg. I write a lot more than I post pics. I HATE THE WAY I LOOK IN PICS. So, I guess my blergs are more boring. Blah. Foo.
I adore you, Susie Q!
and this from the most photogenic girl i know!
this stuff is all very close to pea's house. i'm still giggling about that "ruxbury" sign. so glad i thought to grab my camera!
the day was solo. i'm such a loner. it's hard for me to ask people to do anything and i am so rarely available when they call (bad ankle usually) that they eventually stop inviting me. so few people understand my situation and assume i'm just being rude. also i'm terrible at making friends!
and your blergs are so so far from boring. i feel that mine are boring so i spice them up with pictures.
Ha! Puh-lease, girl! Boring?!! If your style is any kind of reflection on your philosophies and general musings on life, you are farthest from boring. Geeps!
You know something? I too have a hard time making buds. I don't have a bad ankle that I could feasibly assert as one possible reason for that. And I am sorry that yours (ankle) is troubling you! Good grief! So young! And if you have to crutch it for a while, I say, make lemons out of that lemonade! Decorate that stick, man! I'll send you some stickers or something.
Um, I think I'm as photogenic as you. But my personal struggle with cameras is that as soon as you direct one on me, I try too hard to look good. I can't just be normal. Feh. I hate being a stereotypical girl like that, lol.
But I do a lot of time in my head thinking way too much about that which most peeps could care a whit.
Feh. Poo.
But I know this. You. are. true. blue. And I thank all that is good in the world for Pea introducing you to me! God love that girl!
