water water EVERYWHERE!!!!

i guess i can't really complain about the rain since i live in seattle by choice, but i will mutter about it slightly. it wreaks havoc on old houses and buildings! and don't even get me started on archaic drainage systems...

i wisely chose to wear rubber rain boots today after yesterdays leaks and spills. i heart my rain boots! i got a similar pair for my older sister and she loves hers, too. hers are purple with crossed guns and they say "love kills" on the toes. anyway, today started off badly. marie dropped a bucket of pepper all down the front of herself. minutes later i dumped a pitcher of egg nog all over in the fridge. while cleaning that up, kalilah dropped a cappuccino and the mug shattered into a million pieces. no joke! good thing i had the boots.

around noon our drains started backing up. luckily we caught it before they flooded but we still had to close while we waited for a plumber. it was insane since sunday is our busiest day of the week and we already had a 45 minute wait. it sucked to have to tell those people they weren't going to get seated, especially the ones who'd been waiting a while already. to kill time before we could reopen, we had to clean. i scoured the jukeboxes and sneezed since i'm coming down with something sinus-ey and allergy-ish. yikes.

when the afternoon shift started arriving, i got the heck outta there. i'm now snuggled in bed with linus and lucy, preparing to watch some 70s horror flick while i finish my Theraflu. yay for monday off!

yep, wishing the tip of my finger could shoot one of those little flags that simply reads, "bang."
