six mink stole: furburger.etsy.com
doily edge apron: coffeeklatch.etsy.com
stripey socks in fall tones: target
side zip frye boots: urban outfitters
stunning hair flower: the ravishing jonelle lind
assorted wooden bracelets: claires
glasses: my actual px, from reynold's optical in portland (they have a warehouse of deadstock vintage frames and i've gotten all my glasses from them since i was 20!)
thanks to jonelle for snapping today's photo! i'm posing on the batmobile, the only coin operated ride we have at luna. the batmobile is amazingly indestructible. full grown adults ride it quite often and kids will climb on in hordes, clinging to the hood and jockeying for position. occasionally the coin slot gets jammed but there is never a mechanical failure. i guess they truly don't make stuff like they used to!!!!
work was relatively uneventful today. the cripple kicker came in and tried to speak to me yet again. he's this creepy guy who thinks he's hot because he rides a motorcycle. he got his nickname by kicking me in my bad leg with his big old frankenstein foot, causing me to collapse on the floor in excruciating pain and become physically ill. he also uses penthouse subscription cards as bookmarks in ridiculously titled books like "the satanic witch" which he holds up high to make sure we see the title. i don't like him.
jonelle came in with her sweetie pie mom and i bought some gorgeous fall-theme hair flowers. her stuff is so incredible and i'm trying to get her to sell it on etsy. all the girls at luna park wear her flowers and whenever she comes in, we swarm her table snatching up everything she brings.
i really expected some angry remarks about my stole but i didn't get any. i have to say i was a bit disappointed. i was looking forward to some confrontation. linus tried to steal it from me. he was dragging it around by one of the feet. lucy attempted to groom it before i snatched it back from them. there's a funny little spot where her licks curled the fur. they are such weird cats!

Okay, the duder trying to get your attention with the satanic books and motorcycle boots on your poor leg is a cretin of the worst order, and your instinct to avoid him is spot on. He's never grown out of the "pick on girls to get them to notice me" schema, that is popular among boys aged 8-13, uno, when they're awkward around girls they like. Yeah, sounds like he's stuck in that age group and a total waste of time and space.
You look frickin rad in your ensemble today! WOW! I love how you mix Claire's Boutiques with high end vintage. On someone else it would be cliche or trite, but on you it's "DAMN! Look at the fine lady!"
And what was this tune that you and Pea were going on about, eh??? Was it rockabilly? Cuz Pea lurves her Rockabilly, lololol... Wish I could have been there to be around you both being annoying in front of the customers. In fact, where I work I get a special kick out of annoying peeps. Don't know why, perhaps it's my deviant streak, hah!
Hugs and love tonight to you and Lucy and Linus...
cripple kicker is soooooooo creepy! even if he hadn't kicked me i'd still avoid him. his appearance and personality disgust me. i may try to get a picture of him so i can post public service messages with warnings like "don't be that guy" or "ladies, hide your drinks." yecho!
thank you for the compliment! i am a big fan of claire's clearance sales where they do 10 items for $5. my nephew xander loves to help me shop there. i invariably end up with skull necklaces and "the nightmare before christmas" wristbands and socks mixed in with my stuff. he swears he doesn't know where they came from but he's more than happy to take them off my hands.
the song pea and i were doing was an old dolly parton number. she warbles out "jolene" in increasingly higher octaves with her pleading tone becoming more and more plaintive. it's definitely a crowd pleaser. at least i stopped singing bowie for a few hours.
kisses and hugs winging your way!
